been ages since playing this so just had fun messing around and getting familiar with the controls again. shinobi 3's put me too much in ninja mode to be an effective hedgehog for a while.

I was never really good at Sonic games. I have one for GameGear and totally fail. I'm only good at being speedy when it comes to Extreme G, I guess. Being obsessive about collecting every ring I see doesn't help matters any...
from memory the gamegear versions are more fiddly and less smooth playing, but going for all the rings obsessively is a great way to lose them. ;) i could stand to collect more rings though, they're more important to the game than the time bonus.
@JetSmoke Exactly. :P I usually wind up losing them.

I think the GameGear was a failure all around, to be honest. Portable Sega games was a good idea, but they screwed it up. If I recall, the controls for all the games I had on it were clunky. And it took six batteries. Yeesh.
@Dragonpaw yeah, nintendo gameboy was one of the few decent hand-held systems ever made. there's at least one reason why most of the others never stayed around for long, although psp is doing better than i expected.
@JetSmoke The PSP is... meh. I probably wasted my money buying one. Nintendo really knows what they're doing when it comes to handhelds, although I'm still skeptical about the 3DS.
